Temp gauge flatlined 850 1995

My temp gauge stopped working. The gas gauge, prior to temp gauge problem, climbed VERY slowly - may take a couple miles for it to reach actual tank level. Is there a relay or something that could cause this? My mechanic said he checked the sender and it works. Auxiliary fan does kick in as engine warms.

Any advice appreciated. Scott

Check your A-7 codes. Either a 1-2-1 or 1-2-2 indicates a malfunctioning engine temp sensor.

    I still miss my 164 and my 854T. Just driving a V70R :)

It could be the ignition switch on its way out? Any other symptoms?

No, no other symptoms other than the slow gas gauge. The key warning beeper stays on sometimes when the door is shut, but I believe that's in the door handle, isn't it?

What about adding a separate temp gauge? Is there a place to mount a separate sender other than the one already in place? If so, can someone please describe where to find it?

      Thanks,
      Scott
