Very rough idling after two weeks of stand still S60 2001

I experienced this rough idling (really rough) for about 30 seconds two times now after a stand still of more than two weeks.
After one minute everything is back to normal again. Strange is that it doesnot occur after a shorter period of stand still (i.e. a week or so). Neither do I experience this with my other car which was standing still for almost 4 weeks.

Any ideas?

thanks!

After a few hours the fuel pressure should drop to zero, normal. Do you have newer Volvo spark plugs?
The fuel pressure regulator could be drying out, check the vacuum line which connects to the front of the intake manifold - the other end follows the fuel line back to the fuel pump. There should be no liquid gasoline in that vacuum line.
Immediately after startup, look at the exhaust pipe. Is there black smoke coming out - too much gas?

    I still miss my 164 and my 854T. Just driving a V70R :)

    1. Before you start the engine, is there any pressure on the fuel rail by pushing the valve on the rhs of the rail itself?

    2. When you switch your ignition on, can you hear the fuel pump charging for 4 seconds?

    3. When did you last have the throttle body cleaned?

      Thanks for the replies.

Spar plugs (original Volvo) are some 20k km old (last service) at that time also the throttle body was cleaned.

It is almost impossible to reproduce the rough start up, because it only occurs when the car is standing still longer than something like 10 days.
After a one week stand still, the start up is completely normal...

      regards,

      Dutch
