Hi, Brickboarders...
1999 s80 issue.
a/c cuts out after a couple of minutes.
Is there any correlation between engine overheating and a/c cutting out?

Yes, there is. If the engine coolant temp sensor gets too hot, the ECU will shut off the AC to help cool the radiator. If you are over heating, get it fixed ASAP.
If the temperature on the dash remains at the normal setting, it might be that the compressor clutch is no longer being pulled in when hot. There is a fix for that also.
