did volvo ever make a car like this? 850

I am looking for an turbocharged, 850 wagon, with a manual transmission. Did volvo ever make this car? If so what years are the best, and which should I watch out for?

Thanks

The closest you would get to that would be a 1998 to 2000 V70 wagon which came with a stick in both turbo and non-turbo, very rare for both though.

You will have to leave the USA to get a turbo 850 with a manual. Or convert one yourself. The USA dealers found that very few customers want to shift for themselves and that would eat into their profits, so the base model could be had with a shifter. The GLT and T5 were ordered with the auto.
There are S/V70s with T5 engines and 6 speeds, if you can find one. Most special ordered.

The base 850 with the 5 speed is quite nice. It won't spin the wheels for 50 feet, but the handling in corners is great. And the mpg is 30+.

    I still miss my 164 and my 854T. Just driving a V70R :)
