Cosmetic clean-up bumpers and rubber door strips S80 2001

The SC sun has done in the rubber on my S80. The tops of the bumpers and the strips along the doors are gray to white. Is there anything short of paint to restore the black to these - or at least get them several shades darker.

The outer layer of plastic has oxidized, and short of grinding off the oxidation layer there is little to be done.
There are 850s many years older than your car that owners have resorted to black shoe dye, in a liquid bottle with applicator. Results of treatment depend on the person applying it. Never do it in direct sunlight.
I have tried vinyl restore sprays that almost get it back to dark grey, but that lasts only a month or so.

Yes there is something you can do for the bumpers. Trade secret:- Get a hot air gun and gently waft it over the bumpers while it is on the car. They will look like new! ....apart from the scratches of course. Did it to mine and it lasted 2 years. Here's my post from long ago.

Thank you ShadeTech!! I lost the original thread a long time ago, and have just stored it this time.
