C70 FRONT SEAT PROBLEM C70

Hi Guys

I purchased a used 1999 C70 2.4 Auto a couple of months ago, have now realised that both the front seats will not tip forward.
I have tried pulling on the orange strap in the rear and pulling the lever on the side (together) bashing the seat etc etc but nothing short of going to a dealer will sort this problem out, I live in the UK so going to a dealer will cost me more in Fuel than getting the seats repaired !!

Another little niggle is that the orange engine block warning light has come on, in the owner manual it states "electrical fault" when this comes on but the car is running fine, any Idea's?

Thanks in anticipation

Paul

The seat control module may be faulty. Do the other functions work? In my case, I cannot adjust travel, but the other functions work fine. I need to replace the module, there are some salvage places that have them, or a new one from the dealer. Or just make sure you only drive the car.

Not sure what electrical fault code could mean. You could try disconnecting the battery for a day or two, and seeing if it clears the CPU. Make sure you have the radio unlock code first though.

The cable in the backrest is broken. It's actually a double cable, a pain to fix but it's doable without taking the seat out, I just did my driver's seat...
