v70 "Low Voltage Battery' message

I received this message and replaced the battery. Now with the new battery I am still getting the same message. Besides the alternator, what else could be the cause of this problem?

thanks

Before you spend a lot more money, get yourself a multimeter and check the voltage from the alternator. It should be about 14.5V with the daytime running lights on.
You might want to get a trickle charger. Even "new" batteries don't come fully charged and running with headlights always on will not fully charge the battery. Just leave the charger hooked on for 24 hours.

thanks for the info Klaus. I charged the battery and it still went dead in 2 days. I took the car to an autostore and they tested the system. They said the alternator was bad. Any good online replacement steps for an alternator?

thanks

It's not a lot of fun. The ac compressor must be loose in its mount before the alternator can come out. I would pay a good garage $150 to replace it, plus a good alternator of course.

If it is just the brushes, they can be replaced along with the diode board, I think. Ask a dealer if that is possible.
