I have a 1998 V70 XC. The tail gate lock lever just started sticking . If I push in on it and lift the lever at the same time. I here a click and it opens . I can open it.The trouble is that my wife drives the car and she can not get it to open . I took the back panel apart to get to the lock assembly . Every thing looks fine . Any HELP ?

    If you have to push on the liftgate to get it to unlatch, it is too tight. Use a T40 driver and loosen the two screws and move the catch rearward about 1/8 of an inch. Make sure nothing is blocking the door.

    Sounds like you need to replace the rear struts. If you do, get OEM and not Scantech junk. Your wife will like it when the door stays up easily.
