Well, after a little over 10 years of none confrontational driving, a li'l ol lady made a mess of the rear bumper of my 97 850 GLT wagon. :-( Anyhow, it was a sideswipe more than anything and the bumper cover took all the beating with no apparent damage to the actual support (?).
Can someone give me a good link to a best price parts place for this cover. I'm assuming it's plastic, but of course the dealer wants $455 for the part, which I think is pre-painted (in this case, refrigerator white). Any help would be appreciated.

    Depending on where you live, check out the junk yards first... no shipping charges. And if they have a white one, no painting either!
    If you get one a different color, it will need to be sanded and resprayed with a plastic white paint. Regular body paint won't work on plastic parts.

    If the little ol lady's insurance pays for it, take it to a body shop.

      Thanks Klaus. Good advice as usual. Guess I'll let my fingers do the walking for a bit.
