O.K., one thing has lead to another and in my early morning grogginess I reached my limit on entering the radio code and my manual tells me I have to wait two hours with the ingnition key tunred to "I". Will this drain the battery? This whole thing began with a faulty radiator fan relay which kept the radiator fan on for too long, hence draining my battery overnight. The battery is not that old and responded well to a jump start this morning.
Now I don't have my music and wanted to know if there is any other way around this 2 hr. waiting period. What a joke!

Depending on your state of battery charge, 2 hours with the key in position I will not drain the battery that much. If you have driven the car for an hour with the lights off (no DRLs), the battery should be good.

My garage has a trickle charger handy at all times :)

Saw a post the other day while researching how to install a PYP radio from an unknown car. Don't know how handy you are but... Someone took the radio apart and disconnected the CPU battery to reset it rather than go through the ignition key turn on for two hours routine. Maybe someone else can help but I have no clue where the CPU battery is inside the radio.

Why don't you unplug the battery for 20 mins, then plug it back.
