Other than the A/C, any common issue on the 850? 850

Any idea?

Depends on the year. Pre 1997, tranny needs TLC. Post 1995, ABS module.

At around 150K+ miles, expect to replace the front axles and other front end work.

    Driver's side window guides.
    Radio antenna.
    Oil seperator replacement @ 150K
    Vacuum lines, check valves.
    Criuse control vacuum pump.
    Trunk, liftgate struts.

Wait, cruise control vacuum pump? I never knew those could go bad on an 850. Then again, mine is 12 years old but I hardly ever use the cruise at all. Nor do I ever use a/c.

The CC pump tends to get a little slower with a lot of age. No big deal, but you loose the nice steady speed and fluctuate a few miles per hour in hilly terrain.

      Hey Klaus,

I was reading over some past threads, noticed you said pre 1997 tranny needs TLC.

My 96 has 127k. Is there anything I can do to make it last? Should I change the fluid?

      Thanks, Matt

All trannies need to have the fluid flushed. Those with a lot of stop and go traffic especially.
Just don't use a "machine" to flush it. They generally create too much pressure and break something. Do it your self, it only takes 30 minutes and 1 case of Mobile 1 ATF.
I wrote about how to serveral times on the Brickboard.
