ABS light and location of module 850

1996 850 GL estate, ABS light intermittently comes on. When it does, there is often a few seconds of a vibrating noise with vibrations felt on the brake pedal too. Then the light comes on and the brake feel is normal (with the ABS off).

Any ideas?

Someone said it might be the electrical connector, and to clean it up. Where is the module where the electrical system connects to?

If you are in Great Britain, try re-soldering the connections to the ABS module. The original box tends to overheat and the connections come loose inside the box.

I believe the '96 and '97 ABS modules have an engineering problem where a part burns up inside. This fellow can repair for $1xx vs $8xx new.

This link will show you where the module is and you can read more about Vic's service. He has an excellent reputation.
