Passenger side window will not go up V70-XC70 2004

Hi,
On a trip into town this afternoon my wife had occasion to put her window down & hitting the "up" switch the window seemed to come off it`s track. The window is at present half way up but I didn`t want to try it further fearing that it may be totally screwed if I pushed it.
Anyone else experienced this issue? Sounds like a dealer fix($$).
TIA,
Rich

Rich,
If that was on an 850, I would say that the window guide broke and it is a 30min DIY fix. On the "new" cars, I don't have a procedure to remove the door panel, so I don't know where the screws are hidden.
If the window is crooked, not level, then you might want to pull up on the lower part of the glass and at the same time flick the switch to make it go up and inch or so. Once level, try closing the window.
Dealers are notoriously expensive when it comes to non-engine related things. Keep us posted...

If you are not comfortable removing the door panel yourself for inspection of the problem, then you should consider an autoglass replacement shop for the repair, they are very familiar with the inner workings of car doors and they generally have much lower labor rates than the dealer.
