new plugs/CEL S70 2000

I just changed the plugs on the 2.4 (non-turbo) with the Bosch double electrode non-adjustables and I'm getting some stumbling under load and after 50 miles or so, a check engine light . Does anybody have any experience with these plugs misperforming? Pretty sure I didn't mishandle them or drop them. Is there a simple way to test the coils before I take it in to get the codes read? Just to be sure, I'll go out and pull the plugs to make sure the gaps match. The loom was pretty toasty so I replaced that. Is there a particular wire in the bunch that tends to fail? Sorry for the multiple questions, but Volvo is all new to me.

Those are terrible plugs. Do you still have the original plugs? If you do, put them back in. Then read the back of the manual that gives the Champion plug size and put those in for 25K miles. Or buy Volvo OEM and have them last for 40K+ miles.

Those individual coils don't help either. If you got your codes read, the P010n would tell you which cylinder is misfiring. 101 = #1, 102 = #2, etc.
Then you could swap coils to see if one stopped working is because of a bad coil.

Thanks, I took them out, put them back, unhooked the battery ground in case it might reboot without a CEL, and it did and ran fine. Maybe a deteriorated wire that needed to be shifted back? Considering your appraisal of these plugs, I'll expect them to disappoint me soon and plan on popping in some more reliable ones.Has an oil drip from the filler neck down into a sparkplug well, but that did't seem to affect the old NGK plugs. Add to the variables a recent trans flush (maybe air bubbles working themselves out;I did have to add some more ATF the day after) and it's still a mystery why it misbehaved. It's my girlfriend's car, so I'm sure I'll get a full report. Nice car, over all.

Stop by the dealer and pick up a new oil cap gasket. The original one is probably as hard as a rock by now.
You may, indeed, have jostled a coil wire causing the misfire. Just because a part is made by Bosh does not imply that it is good for these 5 cylinder engines. And the wire "looms" used by Volvo are a joke, they don't stand up to the heat in the engine bay. A better source would be an electrical supply shop, much cheaper also.
