Coolant change/ flush questions 850 1997

Hi, Thanks for the help. I'm not sure of the age of my coolant. It's been a sleeping dog and the temp gauge has stayed at 3:00, but I think it's time for a change. I think it's original Volvo coolant and the book says to leave it, but... What is the best coolant to get (if Volvo, from what alt source?) if other brand, then what specs to look for? How do you dispose of the old fluid? Any other thoughts about the procedure will help. Thanks!

PS E-brake cable was bad and replaced by indy (chipped a little piece off the console) and all good now, also rear brakes shimmed and greased and quiet for now.

Coolant change/ flush questions 850 1997

I just get a gallon of Volvo coolant for $20. Its $10 more than the other stuff, but it makes my dealer happy.
As for disposal? I take it to the local haz waste site along with my unused stain and varnish. When I flush, it is over the front lawn and diluted with tap water.
