Oil leak: Filler cap is original: Replace or check for leak 850

I have replaced the oil trap which solved my oil leak problem for few months but about 4 months later, again, I have to put 1 quart after every 400 miles. The filler cap may be leaking. Should I replace that first or should I check for other leak? What if, after replacing filler cap, oil pressure gets worse due to other clogged up area and it gets worse? I see oil and dirt at the lower part of the timing belt cover. Can the oil trap be clogged again?

Is filler cap from Pep Boys OK?

Thanks.

Replace just the seal, just $1 at the dealer.

You need to take off the timing belt cover to find out where the oil is leaking from. Usual suspects are the cam seals, which could have been damaged from the previous over pressured crankcase. If you have a turbo engine, there are 2 lines that go from the oil pump, bottom of the timing belt, to the radiator. The seals (O rings) for these lines will eventually fail and are fairly easy to replace, but they are a pain in the neck to get to.

Do I need to replace the filler cap or replacing the seal will be enough?

Flame trap has been replaces. Throttle body has been cleaned as much as possible.

do I need to check/measure the engine oil pressure?
