ABS rebuild questions 850 1997

My 1997 850's abs module is on the fritz. Not a big surprise as these things go. I have read many positive posts on this board about Victor Rocha's services. He wants $125 plus $15 shipping to fix mine and offers a five-year warranty, plus he's had grand feedback around these parts. On the other hand, these guys on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Volvo-850-C70-S60-S70-S80-V70-ABS-Ate-Repair_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33560QQihZ016QQitemZ260209279244QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Want $69 plus $20 for shipping which is for BOTH ways. They offer a lifetime warranty and are in Massachusetts, which is far closer to me than California (I'm in Ohio).

I'm not meaning to be harsh at all here, but in a free marketplace, what reasons would I have for choosing Victor over this other place? I'm all for supporting the little guy, but for nearly twice as much, I have to think twice...

Thanks for any thoughts,

Nate

ABS rebuild questions 850 1997

Nate,

I think all of the known re-builders (Victor, ModuleMaster, etc) are of high quality and they will stand behind their repairs. That said, if you are bold and you know how to solder you can do it yourself in a couple of hours.

Here is how I did mine:

I do the Victor thing. It would be a lot like saying that you can prob save a little $$ doing your own teeth. V has the parts, and he has gone to the trouble to research the issues. That said, I would use V only because I have once already.
