Next best year post-1998? S70

My '98 is getting a bit long in the tooth and I'd like to plan my next brick acquisition. Low mileage 98's are getting scarce, so what would be the most reliable subsequent year considering the ETM and other electronic issues, etc?
I'm looking V70's for the extra cargo handling. Did Volvo ever get the AWD figured out? I do a lot of miles in snow country.

John, if you are looking at a car 6, 7 or 8 years old, you better use condition as your main criteria. The best maintained car will be your best choice. Sadly, most older cars are not in good shape because owners just won't do basic maintenance, even when it is trivially inexpensive to do this work.
