My 96' 850 service light went on at 120,000 mile on it. On my 2 other volvo I know you just push the button on the dash and it will go away. How do you get the 96' to turn the service light out. Oh the service light only stays on for a min. or two.

    Either a small piece of black electrical tape over the message area, or remove the instrument panel and throw the bulb away. A good time to replace the other bulbs which will burn out.

    My service light has been on for the last 30,000 miles. Ignore it

    Unfortunately on a '96 it takes a Volvo Scan Tool or its high dollar equivalent. There is a device called a draper reset tool but I think even they cost over $100.00. I have heard of some dealers actually resetting it for free but I don't know that I believe it.
