in the news: Volvo fined 200,000 euros over fatal French car crash 850

it's a 850 TDI, euro version. has anyone ever had the rubber brake hose fail or deteriorate to a point it's dangerous to use?

That's nothing 850

With all of the frivilous law suits here in the USA, the lawyers are all buying Ferraris and Rollers. They just happened to get a good lawyer. The brake lines are redundant, the brake warning lamp is there in case the fluid level gets low, and all "normal" manufacturers use flexible brake lines.

Don't buy a lotto ticket, just find a "good" lawyer.

Hoses seem to last forever, no scheduled replacement, just inspection.
I have always been impressed by the Volvo redundant brake circuits and not by ambulance chasing sharks.
