HELP! No License plate lights '97 850 sedan or trunk lights... 850

I have an inspection due. No license plate lights on trunk lid. bulbs are good.

Under trunk lid, there is no power at connectors w/parking lights on. At the driver side plug, I have a white wire and two black wires (I think the other black may go to the other right side license plate light, but didn't trace it)

Any ideas on a bad ground or plug? I don't see any obvious problems w/the wire loom running back thru to the driver side trunk / tail light area.

---

I also don't have power to the trunk light (regardless of the position of the switch at the light)

---

Any ideas? I've seen several posts, but no answers for the license plate lights. The trunk light is probably the trunk latch assembly.

I had the same problem and it turned out that the wiring harness got chopped in half, inside the wire loom.

Check for voltage at the white wire(s) on your bulb failure sensor. The bulb failure sensor is located beneath the carpet in front of the drivers side tail light. It is a blue plastic box with a multi pin connector. If you have voltage there it means the wiring is the problem.

Lee,

thanks. I saw the blue box, but didn't have a chance to go further before my wife had to leave... w/the car. I'll check it tonight.
