Exterior mirror removal S70 1998

Can anyone tell me how to remove an exterior rear-view mirror?

    Tilt the glass all the way down. With a flashlight you can look inside behind the mirror. You will see plastic with small plastic spikes going through. You need to pry the plastic apart from the spikes. Seems brutal and you will have to use some force. I have used a small flat blade screw driver to do this. There are 4 small spikes to separate from the plastic.

    Good luck. Believe the RWD FAQ on Brickboard also has a way of doing it. The process is the same.
