Engine Compression 850

Can anyone advise how I can restore compression to the engine of my 850? Compression was lost due to a loss of oil pressure. Thanks

That depends on the circumstances of the lost oil pressure. Did you drive the car a lot without any oil pressure and burned up the rings? Have you lost pressure to all of the cylinders or just 1?
Or did you just turn on the engine for a few rpms and then turn it off?

It's my wife's car and I tried to start after a few days outside our house. It tried to 'catch' but then began turning over very freely. I checked the oil and its very low. I suspect it has lost compression due to lack of oil - my fault. How do I go about trying to restore compression if I'm correct?

If you haven't already, top off the oil to the proper level. Then charge the battery with a trickle charger if you have one, because the next thing you are going to do is run the starter for a long time.

To help matters, I would take out the plugs and clean them of gasoline.

After the battery is fully charged, put the gas pedal to the floor (this stops the injection of gasoline), make sure all electrics are turned off, and start cranking the engine. It may take a full minute, and when you get sputtering let your foot off the gas pedal and keep cranking until the engine takes over. Let the engine run for a couple of minutes to clean out the combustion chambers.

Then figure out why the car is losing oil. Clean out the flame trap, etc.
