850 suspension clunk/chatter 850 1997

I replaced the (very worn) control arms and sway bar links on my '97 850, figuring the intermittent clunking from the right front would disappear....well, it didn't. It is now not intermittent, but whenever there is the slightest imperfection in the road. It is most annoying. When I push from the top with the car in the garage, no noise, but as soon as I'm driving it's there. I'll double check my torques tomorrow, but what else could it be?

Thanks!

Nate

Check the control arms and the motor mounts. If they are old they may be badly worn.

that would be the motor mount under the crank pulley on the right side. Your motor is probably resting on the frame. Groton has them but I would make sure to disconnect the upper torque rod before trying to replace. Groton has instructions.
