Is there a third module for a 98 s70 GLT? S70 1998

Pardon my apparent/actual lack of knowledge regarding S70s, but I have noticed that there's an empty slot on the three slotted computer bay. As far as I can determine my GLT currently houses a transmission and an ECU module, leaving an empty slot.
This would indicate that there might be an another module to be added. But if so, what would it be?

I have noticed that some of the last 850 wagons actually carried three modules, what functions did the third one perform? And is there anything to be gained by additional modules, or better, is a third module needed in a 98 S70 GLT?

Thanks

The third slot was for the ignition control module in the earlier LH 3.2 cars produced in 93 and early 94, and non turbo. Motronic 4.3 combined fuel and ignition ECM's into one, thereby leaving an empty slot.

Thanks, a piece of Volvo history will go a long way toward clarifying things indeed.

Check the other side of the engine bay, there it is!

Thanks KlausC, are you referring to the ABS unit per chance? Or is it the Ignition Control module? or is it something else altogether?

That's ABS. You know Volvo... they keep using parts until the inventory runs out, then change it regardless of model year. Why get a smaller box when there is room for the old box? Besides, putting stuff close to the turbo will guarantee that it will get cooked over time and need to be replaced. !#&^*!#$
