The lens on my 2001 XC70 has a huge hole in it from a stone.
Can I buy a new lens? If so where? or do I need to buy the complete light fixture?

I think I missed something. Did you check with a Volvo dealer? When you do replace it, you can protect the next lens with XPEL plastic film. The XPEL on my wife's 1999 car has not yellowed or deteriorated in seven years, good stuff.

No I didn't check with the dealer.
Thought I could find something a little cheaper from a parts store.
I've searched for just the lens but all I can find it the complete light.

All you'll find is the complete light. The lens is not sold seperately.
