Engine Idle speed it high 850

I have a 1996 850 GLT which I just put a used engine into about a month ago. The engine is running good, but the idel is 1200 RPMs in part and about 950 in drive. This is to high by about 300 from what I can tell. Any ideas on what could cause this? This car had 150K miles before I removed the engine, and all components from teh old engine were switched to the new engine. I have read some where that it could be the catalytic converter? I have checked the throttle cable and it is adjusted correctly. Any help would be appreciated. I do have a 0400 engine code which says its an EGR issue that appears sporadically but not all the time. Thanks

High idle is usually associated with an air leak around the intake manifold. Is it torqued properly? Are all of the vacuum holes covered?
If you are getting a code for the EGR, check the lines between it and the engine.
