Radiator Fan S70

S70 2000, Had a strange thing happened, after turning ignition off the raditor fan kept running, is never done this before, is this normal? I had to disconnect the power to the fan, next morning I reconnected and all back to normal, is the relay going bad?
Thanks

If your engine is hot or the ac was on this is normal. The engine is trying to cool itself. If it runs for over an hour then you have a problem.

The strange thing is that it has never done this before, even in the middle of summer in south Florida it always turned OFF when the ignition was turned off.
      Thanks

It also might be time for a new thermostat and/or a new engine coolant temp sensor. Just keep a watch out on your dash's temp gauge, along with the fan relay.

It is unusual that it runs on in the cooler time of the year but not unheard of. Like Klaus said though, if it does it for more than a few minutes (5 or so)then you might want to look into a new fan relay.
