VADIS CDs on ebay ?? S80

What's the deal with the VADIS CD/DVDs on ebay? Does anybody have any experience with them?
I bought one from a seller (w/100% feedback). His ad said that it was an original CD. He first tried to rip me by saying the post office called him and told him the package got lost (???!!) I told him I wanted the CD or my money back or I would have the postal inspector launch an investigation. He finally sent me another one. It turned out to be a a copy on a memorex CD. It's supposed to work from the CD or installed as a program on a PC. I have not been able to get it to work even after installing it on a PC, and following the provided directions explicitly. It refuses to let me go beyond a certain point with the "user" privleges it starts me with even when entered into the system by the system administrator. I even had a software designer at work try and even he couldn't get it to work. I've seen other VADIS DVDs on ebay claiming to be the real thing, not copies, while contact with other sellers claim that original or "real" VADIS dvds are NOT available anywhere, and if they can be found, they have "expired". I might want to try again from a different ebay seller, does anyone have any experience with these, or have been able to get the ones from ebay to work? Thanks

    ALL of the CDs on Ebay are "pirated" copies of VADIS. You need to know the date of the CD and change the date in your computer to before that date in order to install it. Change the date back after installation. Something about copyright laws, etc.
    And, no, I don't have VADIS on my PC. I can go to the library and look at the ALLDATA database, which is not quite as good.

      Thanks Klaus. Of all the stuff on my list of notable S80 troubles in the other thread, the first real problem I'm having is that I need to replace or fix the steering rack (blown seal I think) but I wanted to get a heads up on any special tools or procedures before I try to pull it. I didn't add it to the list as I think it's just a normal chance problem and not a common issue. I'll check alldata and see if there's any useful info there.
