Spare Tire 850 1995

Could somebody give me a brief description of how the spare tire is secured in the tire well ? I have a '95 850 GLT sedan. Where does the styrofoam ring go ? This is in my daughter's car and I can't find anything in the manual. Thanks.

I've a 96 850. I think the styro goes on the bottom, narrow part of the the ring up and the tire sits on that platform with the long screw attachment bolt thru either the stud holes or the center ring hole.

the styrofoam ring goes under the donut, the screwy thing goes under the center hole to keep the spare in place.
Consider putting a full size tire there instead of the donut and throwing the factory supplied junk out of the car.

This spare lays on the styrofoam, with the inside of the spare facing up. That creates a well to put the jack and tools in. The jack attaches to the wheel so it won't bounce around.
The strap just goes across the top of the tire, from side to side. The strap ends "hook" into a small metal prong in the floor.
