I have a 1999 V-70 wagon and the icon on the intrument panel indicates that my rear door is open. I have checked for an actuator on the door that will turn it off but I can not find anything. My question is, am I looking in the right place? I also notice that my inside light will not go off when I close the wagon door.

    There is a microswitch inside of the door locking mechanism which is not replaceable. But you may have a broken wire in the top hinge.

    To verify the lock, open the hatch. Use a screwdriver to close the latch. 2 clicks. If the light is still on with the door firmly latched, jiggle the wires in the hinge area.

    Turn off the overhead light so your battery doesn't drain.
