99 v70,have all sorts of dash lights on,coolant light,abs,check engine,brake.lights will come on and sometimes go out after car is restarted,coolant light is mostly on,have checked rad it is full,check engine comes on the odd time?,car seems to work OK,have heard these cars have a faulty computor?,does volvo still warranty this,i think i read somewheres that they did.my car is a salvage car,was hit on rear door and 1/4 panel on drivers side,did not hurt any wires or computors?.any help is greatly appreciated as we are planning on a 2500 mile road trip soon,have acces to a obd2 scanner,am going to try that next,any tips on what to look for. thanks Harvey Bowness

checked voltage with car running,no power accesorys on,have 13.6 volts at battery,turned heater,fog lites,heated mirrors,etc. on,now had 12.4 volts at battery.not sure what this means,car returns to 13.6 when stuff is turned off. today abs lite was on,coolant lite was not. thanks Harvey

my blinking dash lights were due to worn out generator carbon brushes in the voltage regulator, which can be replaced keeping generator in it's place (Bosch).

The idiot lights will come on when the alternator output goes to zero. Check the S belt for slippage. Check the alternator for correct output, about 14.7 Volts.
Most auto parts stores will loan you a code reader for free, so you can check codes.

hello all,what you are saying is my alternator is not up to snuff?,actually the positive post on the battery is covered with green fluff?,i did clean it last week,thought that might be problem,but lights are still on?belt seems fine,battery always seems charged up too.any more ideas?? thanks Harvey Bowness

It is possible that you are having multiple individual problems. The ABS light coming on and going off at random times is usually a warning that the ABS controller is about to die. Victor can fix this for around $150.
The coolant light could be caused by the cooland level sensor, easily replaced as a DIY.
When you cleaned the battery terminal, did you take the positive wires apart and clean between them? Did you polish both the pos and neg poles of the battery? It is possible that the brushes on the alternator are wearing down and need replacing, you should be getting 14.7V on the alternator output with the headlights on.
Have you jiggled the ignition key when these lights come on? If the electrical portion of the switch is starting to fail, this is a tell tale sign.
