Volvapeeps:

Filled up with the crappiest gas in the world right in Yakima Washington. Drove to Seattle whereas I experienced more and more rough running. On arrival in Silverdale, my XC barely idled. Brother says some Chevron fuel-injector cleaner should do it. I proceed to add it to a tank, run it through. A bit smother, but still a miss and rough running. Am I looking at a couple hours in the shop, blowing out the injectors? or is there another magical fix for this?

    Bad news but I thoght I should still share with you.
    No compression in #3 cylinder. Leak-down says burnt valve(s)
    Shop says $1800 - $2200 for fixee

    '98 V70 T5 5-speed, 173k mi, heated velour cloth comfy chairs, factory HD suspension, Bilstein HD, front IPD stabilizer bar, Volvo strut tower brace and skidplate, XC grill, C70 jewel E-Codes, V-1, Lidatek, IPD stuff, JB Weld, Original Duck tape, zip-ties, two '06 Honda license plate nut impressions in back bumper (gift from daughter), Mobil-1 since new.

    There are no magical fixes for bad gasoline. You could try to syphon most of it out, for your lawn mower, etc, and add some good gasoline. Or, take a nice road trip, knowing that you will get terrible gas milage.
    Adding a FI cleaner is a good idea, but you need to replace what is in the tank. Your CEL will turn on but you can go to most any car parts store and they will have a code reader to clear the codes.
    Also a good time to clean the plugs with a wire brush and check the gap.
