If the text in the message center reads "engine system service soon" it means there is a minor fault somewhere but it's not critical, won't affect drivability or safety, something that needs to be checked but not immediately.

Just stop back at the shop and have him reset the service warning.

Please answer, we need to know if the advice is good or bad. The 164 has a new home, all I am left with are 2 turbos :)

the msg was "Engine System Service Required", It was raining hard that day and i had drivin over many deep puddles...i did the Service Required reset several times...the car set for several hours after the rain..When i started it up, the Engine System Service Required msg flashed once and then went out...Ran the car all day with several stop and restarting actions..This A.M. car started without any msg, all looks normal, maybe something got wet or the reset procedure took care of it..?? Thanks for the responses...
