HELP! Readouts driving me nuts! S80 1999

Help! My car is lighting up like a christmas tree on the dash. I have been getting the check engine, abs and the like for some time. When I go to a colder climate, I get no messages so I know that these readouts are false and that I need a new abs module (or get it fixed by the gentleman on this board). That being said, I now have transmission service, power steering fluid and brakes lighting up now. I'm about to take my car into the dealer because I just got the ETS recall notice. They say it's going to take about 2.5 hours with no charge to me. First, are the additional readouts a problem, are they cureable with the ETS repair and what has happened to others that have taken their cars in for this recall? TIA

HELP! Readouts driving me nuts! S80 1999

The 1999 S80 is the problem. The ETS service is usually just a program download. This may cure your tranny problem if it cannot correctly determine throttle position vs gear selection.
The brake and PS warnings can be looked at by you, just checking the fliud levels should help your piece of mind. It appears to be just another electrical glitch of the 99 model year.

Please answer, we need to know if the advice is good or bad. The 164 has a new home, all I am left with are 2 turbos :)

Klaus,

Thanks as usual for your advice! I am planning to have the ETS done and all fluid levels are fine. The car was acting funny for the first time the other day. I was sitting on a hill, not very steep, and I had to really press down on the gas to get it to go up the hill. After that little episode, no problems at all. I'm hoping the update will solve it, who knows, but the car is paid off and I'm hoping to get rid of it somehow. Thanks again!
