1997 Volvo 850R --What's this car worth? 850

I need help and advice on a purchase of a Volvo 1997 850R sedan that I’m interested in. Here’s the skinny on the car:
It’s red, 144,000 miles
Volans wheels, plus Volans spare—all wheels in excellent condition.
BF Goodrich G Force sport tires 215/45zr/17 nearly new.
The paint and finish on the car is excellent—slight paint fade on the hood.
Interior is very clean. Seats have some creasing of the leather, but no cracks--great condition.

A pre-purchase inspection by my mechanic revealed:
Some dash lights burned out
Cracked CV boot
Needs a cam seal
Cruise control not working

The positives:
AC works fine
Rear seal OK
Plenty of power

Repairs will cost $375.

So what’s this car worth? I really need help with this.
We are in the midst of offering and counter-offering.

Many Thanks………Tifosi

Because different regions of the country have different prices, check a web site like cars.com and see what demand there is in the northwest. EDIT: 144K miles means the timing belt and tensioner were replaced at 140K???

I just bought a 1997 T5 with 110K miles, also extra wheels/tires. The bulbs cost me about $15 to replace, it needed a new door strap spring, and a set of sway bar rods. A tune up, too, totaled $275. Cost of car = 5000, asking = 5500.
What counts is what you are happy with. Usually a compromise between you and the seller. Full service records are worth about $1,000. The T5 had them and showed a new evaporator in 2001 - sold!

I wouldn't pay more than $6500 for it. We Volvo people are known for paying too much for what we want...If you can get it for less than $6000 you've done very well. I'm sure they want more than that, but that is all it's "worth".
I just bought a very nice Platinum Edition Turbo Wagon '96 model $4500. One owner....111000 miles....interior is like new! Good luck!
