Hello volvo sages, my check engine light lit up for about a week now. Yesterday I scanned the car and got a code PO172 system too rich BANK 1. How do I troubleshoot this problem and where do I start? Thanks for any input.

Went through this last week.

Possibilities are MAF, vacuum leak, and front O2 sensor. The archives also mentioned that it could also be the rear sensor.

My problem turned out to be a vacuum leak from the PCV system. The rubber elbow on the passenger side of the intake manifold had rotted. The leak did not impact the idle or running in anyway, but I did notice the mileage drop.
