HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!! 850

Sorry for screaming guys, I need some major help.

ok, I will try to make it simple, for me, not you.

My father has a 1994 850 volvo turbo.

car started running funny, then started only when I shifted from p-L fast a few times, Thought it could be PNP, the car was starting before but one day I took it out and came home, would never start after that,

So, I bought a new PNP, installed it, still no start, I know the PNP is in right because I can only start it in P and N, plugged it in ok,

so, still no start,

So, This is what has been checked and installed,

PNP NEW, Ignition Coil(used but was working)camshaft position sensor changed,
a few weeks before that changed the throttle position sensor,

Checked the plugs, they were changed a month ago but when I checked today, dirty and has fuel on them, I wiped them off, re installed them,

There is gas in car, fule pump working, Oh ya, I have a new fuel pump relay in too.
the last think I was thinking of was the cap, I probably have done more but cant think right now, this car is driving me nuts!!!

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Sorry for the bad spelling and grammer.

Bobby 850 turbo.

Did you possibly start it for only a few seconds when it was cold and then get the current no-start? If so, it might be a common problem; The spark plugs never got hot enough, the fuel condensed on the porcelin tip and is acting as a conductor, and then you have no spark. BTDT. Fresh plugs and a fully charged battery will get you going again.

I think I tried very a good long time to crank, it just kept turning over and a few times tried to catch, I will change plugs and cap and rotor, Will give you progress report.

      Oh yes, battery is charging.

You took out the bottom of the air cleaner to access the PNP, and it is still out of the car? Is there anything else not plugged in? To verify the correct placement of the PNP, you need to check the backup lights when you slide the shifter to R.
Recheck all electrical connectors and make sure your "new" coil is working properly. If the plugs are wet, there is no spark or much too rich.

Checked PNP, yes, reverse lights are working, all connectors are plugged back in, the newer coil was from a working volvo and was installed last night, I will test with meter, I will also check the cap, or get a new one.

What Champ6 was trying to describe is also known as the lawn mower syndrom: Start the car, move it 5 feet to get the lawn mower out of the garage, and turn the car off before oil pressure has built up. That results in the valves being partially lifted and no compression.
The solution is to push the gas pedal to the floor (that turns off the gas flow) and crank the starter for 30-60 seconds. The starter moter turns the engine fast enough to build a little oil pressure to support the hydraulic lifters and compression will return. This may take several attempts, so a good battery charge is required :)
This only works if there are no recorded trouble codes.

Ah, so that's what really happens? I wondered why it wasn't a problem with my old round fenders ( mechanical lifters, and lower voltage sparks)

    Bobby,
Don't panic. Just read the DTCs and they will tell you what the problem is. BTW, it sounds like you are not getting enough air, how's the maf?
