Recommendations for oil V70-XC70 2003

On my mom's '03 XC70 that she just purchased, what kind of oil should we use when it comes time for changes? Does the 2.5-liter turbo like synthetic, or regular? And what grade, i.e. 10W-30, -40, etc?

    Synthetic. The weight depends on climate and how aggresively the car is driven. There is usually a chart in the owners manual.
    Remember, the oil filter is a paper insert type and may require a special tool to get it off. Check www.ipdusa.com

    Please answer, we need to know if the advice is good or bad. The 164 has a new home, all I am left with are 2 turbos :)

      I have an older 1999 XC70 and I use Mobile 1. I made the switch after reading from some readers that a full synthetic, or even a partial synthetic is better to use for turbo models. After switching, I found that the car ran smoother, and started easier even in freezing temperatures. I still stay with a more conservative replacement approach, every 4000 miles, rather than the 7500 miles that Mobile 1 recommends.
