Hi all
I am new to this part of the board, I'm usually on the RWD as I have PV 544. My S70 stalls at idle occasionally as if it is funning out of gas. Sometimes it restarts right away and other times it will start only to stall 4 or 5 times before it will idle again. some times it will falter and then allow you to pull away in "limp mode" .There are no codes. I did a tune-up last fall (cap wires rotor) the fuel filter and air filters are new. I was running Bosch platinum but have switched to NGK's. The fuel pump relay has been tried as well as cleaning the throttle body, no change. For what ever reason it seems to happen almost exclusively to my daughter (even when I am in the car). Any suggestions would be appreciated

    I don't believe this is a water problem as it has been doing this for a month and a half, but I will try some fuel line anti-freeze to be sure. No fuel smells and my daughter drives the car occasionally. The car is my daily driver. thanks for the input

        Yes this happened to me once where it stalled 4 or 5 times before it would idle again.

          first thing to try, is clean the throttle body, then if not ok have software upgraded, i would remove ngk and refit bosch if i were you, although this will not fix your problem, just that german bosch suit volvos

    Any chance you could have a little water in your fuel? You say it only happens to your daughter, is she the only one who drives the car, or does she just use it every now and then? I know they're probably way different, but my wife's 2000 Audi A4 was having the same symptoms as you are describing and it turned out to be the temp sensor allowing the car to flood at startup. Does it smell as if it's flooding out when this happens?
