replacing a 940 S60

My friend says to replace my 940 350k miles with a late model s60. The dealer says the s60 is a 'home-run' for volvo. Do you folks agree? Beside the non-existent back seat is the s60 a good car?

My thanks....

It is a great car - and it just so happens I have one for sale, a 2005 base model, 5 speed stick, 9k miles, white / tan cloth, perfect, in Phoenix, 505-920-2917.

I have been supremely happy with my NA 2003 S60 for 4 years. I have a stick, however, and that seems to make it "feel" like it has way more power than an automatic.

My previous car was a Honda product that was basically trouble-free, so I was expecting the worst from a Volvo. Instead, it has been reliable like a Honda, with the addition of the solid durability of a Volvo.

Like Klaus C says, avoid the earlier years. If you troll through the posts on Brickboard, you'll find that most of the "issues" are with 2001 and 2002 cars. There were some changes for 03 and some more for later years. Basically, the newer the better.

Home run, indeed.

Your friend is correct. Compared to the S40 and the S80, the S60 is great! Just stay away from all Volvo models 1999 to 2002.

Is the v70 wagon the same platform as the s60 sedan? I'm thinking NA FWD...can I get 300k miles out of this car....say later year models.....2003-06

The V70 has more rear seat room than the S60 and is slightly longer??? The NA is OK, but do not rule out the light pressure turbo.
