Headlight - HELP! S40-V40

My wife just pulled my 2000 V40 into driveway and the front passenger side headlight was out. Usually not a problem, and I had one in stock, but the situation worsens from there.

I have power at the fuse, but nothing at the harness that connects to the bulb, or the main harness that connects to the headlamp assembly. Short of stripping the wire loom is there someplace else I should be looking? Is there a relay I should be looking for?

Thanks

Headlight - HELP! S40-V40

Hi,
There was an engineering change for the 2000 year headlamps.
Volvo insatlled something inline with he headlamps. They were
going bad too fast, maybe this device is your problem.
Thanks,
Craig

if this happens again, try dipper switch, change from low bean to high etc, could be dipper switch at fault

If the relay died, both headlights would be out. The wiring harness has an extention on it, did you check the other end of the extension for power? It could be in the plug itself.

Hi Klaus-

Bad news - it started working again on its own the following day. So far, the problem has not repeated itself. Normally I would view this as a good thing, however, I am a little nervous about getting my first electrical gremlin on this car.
