Code P0455 read at Autozone ('Evap Leak'). What then, is 'Misfire Cyl 5'? S70 1998

I'm admittedly a novice on Check Engine codes, so I've done a bit of research ..

Many of the threads I've seen here and on Volvospeed, indicate the Evap System, Other threads, however, refer to the same code as "Misfire in Cylinder 5" ???

Are we talking about two different code systems?

BTW, I DO know what to check for in the Evap System (gas cap, tubing leaks, purge valve, etc). But I want to be sure I'm barking up the right tree first!

Thanks for any help.

Wasn't OBD2 supposed to make all cars generic? I just retrieved the same codes, went to walmart and "rented" (for free) OBD2 reader. Time to make a FCPGroton order up. Went to dealer $33(canadian) for a gas cap, plus tax, I was born at night, but not last night.

    $7.95 or so from FCPGroton.

I am also going to do the plugs, wires, dist. cap, and rotor at the same time.

Unless cylinder 5 misfire is bogus or something,
what am I missing here, do we have to take it to the stealer to get proper readings?

You are confusing Volvo OBDII codes with the generic code reader codes. They do not match each other.
So you have a large leak in the evap system, which is probably the gas cap not closed properly or in need of a new seal.
