I have had a catastrophic loss of the passenger side parking / turn signal light (the one next to the headlight). I have purchased new parts for everything available, but cant get the wiring pigtail and plug. I've exhauseted the dealership parts man's patience, so I'm left with trying to find one from a boneyard or someone with a parts car.

The original light had a broken retainer clip and fell out while at interstate speed. The wiring harness wasn't strong enough to prevent the lamp to break away. I'm left with torn wires, no end terminals and no recourse other than buying a complete front wiring harness.

If anyone knows of a boneyard with a 2001 S80 or someone with a parts car, please help.

Volvo does not sell pigtails but they do sell individual termminals and insulator/conector housings. Trouble is the parts catalog only lists pictures and part numbers, not specific application. And the pictures are a bit decepptive. Take your lamp to a boneyard and look at any Eouro car, they all use similar style conectors. If you can't find a volvo, try saab/vw/audi.

Your comment about photo comparisons reminds me of a conversation at the parts counter betwen the parts guy and one of the Volvo mechanics. The mechanic asked about such a visual comparison page, and the parts guy told him he was right, they used to have such pages, but it had been taken out of the system.

I wonder if a backup of those pages would be in someone's online database? They would surely prove useful for poor stiffs like us who try to do our own car service work when possible.
