Anyone tried IPD Sway Bars on their newer V70? V70-XC70 2007

Hello Everyone,

Does anyone out there have first hand expereince with IDP sway bars on a 2001-07 V70? I have the IPDs on my 91-745 and love them. I never felt that my 97-855 needed them, but my new V70 could use some high speed stability. Cornering is very good, but the straight line tracking at speeds above 70 mph reminds me of why I put the IPDs on my 91.

If you have the bars what did you think about the installation? It is much more complex than a rear drive application. Any negitive side effects of the sway bars? Looking at the installation guide this is not a process that I would like to reverse if I was dissatisfied.

Thanks!

Chuck,

What's perplexing about your question and comments is that sway bars do not come into play while the car is going straight. The most common cause for a lack of straight line stability is low tire pressure, followed by worn shock absorbers/broken spring perches/etc.

Even when driving straight there are factors which tend to push you off straight such as wind, road surface varibility, velocity changes and who knows what other varibles. I noticed a huge difference in my 745 with the sway bars in simple freeway driving at sub 100 speeds. I know that the sway bars are a powerfull feature in turns but what I want to know is who has tried the bars on a later V70 and what they experienced. They made my 745 much more secure at 80 mph on the freeway.
