brake pads 2004 V70 V70-XC70

I'd like to replace the brake pads on my 2004 V70 with dustless pads. The dealer doesn't stock them. Is it advisable to use them and if so, what company online sells a good product?
Thanks

I would recommend Volvo OEM. They make more dust, but have the best stopping power of any (I believe that is what brakes are for). I just went through the "search" for cheaper pads, and was very dissatisfied with the build quality difference (and braking ability per other sources) of non-Volvo pads that were anywhere near the price. Unless you spend much more $, the Volvo ones will stop the best and be built better.

I assume you mean ceramic pads. While not dustless they are cleaner. I've used Bosch pads (sold under that name, made by ??). The pedal effort is a little greater in my opinion - though not objectionable.

Ceramic Pad's Are a harder pad and thus takes more force to stop the car at the pedal. Now before anyone says's anything i used these on all my 700 series car's and there in my opinion the best pad's to use it you dont mind the pressure required at the pedal. i am doing the brakes on my wife's 03 V70 tomorrow and could not get ahold of a set for those so i am useing a set from Autozone which are of an Organic Metal Compound, word is these are pretty good for the life of the pad, less dust then the factory though they are said if not installed with care will make some noise.

I am extremely pleased with the Mintex pads I put on my 2002 S40. They are quieter, longer wearing, and a lot less dusty than OEM with identical braking performance. Great prices at fcpgroton.com.

Akebono ceramic pads may also be an excellent alternative but I have no experience with these. They are also at fcp.

FWIW I just replaced my fronts on my '03 S60 with Volvo pads from FCP for $61. I've driven 1000mi since (I commute 175mi/day) and they are great. More dust, but a great brake feel. Rgds
