messed up 850

Hi,
I replaced my heater core and in the process of installing it back i think i messed up the two metal lines. When i poured fresh coolant there is a tremendous leak coming from the upper stem of the metal lines behind the firewall. I think there's a crack in the upper portion of one of those 2 lines, when i was installing the new heater core.

How do you take those 2 metal lines out?

I am very disappointed with myself for wasted time and effort due to carelessness.

Any inputs is highly appreciated.

Thannks so much,
becktg

That is a pretty good link there. In case you have not figured it out it is like that link said, it is not necessary to pull the pipes out of the firewall connector block. My local competition sells one of those blocks on every heater core or evaporator that they do, claiming that you have to have one. I have yet to sell one, ever. That sucks that you have sprung a leak there.

      Good luck,
      Mark

        Mark,
Yeah iknow it sucks...was too imapatient putting back the heater core and resulted in damaging the pipes when i moved them to give way to the new heater core, not even sure if they are damage but leak is obviously coming form the top part of one of the pipes, i am hoping i broke a coupler or perhaps o-ring and not the pipes itself? oh well...

        thanks again
