front wheel bearings V70-XC70 2002

My dealer is going to have to replace both front wheel bearings. The car is 4 1/2 years old, has 90,000 miles. The bill will be about $760. Seems like sealed wheel bearings are a bad idea.

What have others found to be the normal life expectancy of their wheel bearings?

On both of my Audi A4's I have had the rears go at 45 - 55,000 miles. No issues on my V70 or 940. A friend of mine just had rear bearing go on his Ford Explorer, 38,000 miles.

90,000 miles is about right. Both of mine went out at about that mileage. I did it myself; parts were about $150 + $17 for an axle socket to do the job.
