On my 1999 V70 XC, the hood pull handle only releases the keeper on the passenger side.

How do I raise the hood and adjust it?

I have tried five or six times.

    You are going to need some help. Have someone push down on the hood on the driver's side while you pull the release handle. Then adjust the catch up about 1/4 inch and grease the heck out of it.

      Had he same issue on my 2000 XC, the main cable adjustment is near the release handle inside the car - there is a coving panel you need to remove to access the adjustment of the cable. Adjusted mine tighter and the problem was solved.
