Laundry list of fault codes V70-XC70 1999

Hello again.
Posted a message earlier about ABS and Brake light coming on together randomly. ABS unit still in car, but is coming out to be sent off for rebuild/repair.
Check engine light is now on and pulled a couple of codes with my OBD II scanner.
P0722- Output speed sensor circuit - No signal
P1057- Manf.control fuel/air metering - Auxiliary emission control ( this comes on at 2 separate spots on the scanner). When looking at a code translator from Volvo, I come up with a ECM 530D Volvo code, which says DTC Gearbox control module.
I seem to have some sort of Auto transmission issues as well. The arrow on the dash is blinking, indicating just that according to owners manual, which says to contact dealer...$$$$$
P1081- Manf. control fuel/air metering - Auxiliary emission control
When looking at I/M monitors I get:
Misfire - Ready
Fuel.sys - Ready
Comprehensive - Ready
Catalyst - Not Ready
Heated Cat - N/A
Evap sys - Not Ready
Sec. air - N/A
AC Refrig - N/A
O2 Sensor - Not Ready
HO@ - Ready
EGR - N/A
Checked the oil in the transmission. Color looks kinda grayish and possibly a slight burnt smell, but where it should be levelwise.
Realize this is alot of stuff to answer, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, since I would rather try to fix something myself before having to involve dealer/repairfacility.
Thanks,
Rolf

I wouldn't get too excited about the ECM/TCM codes just yet. Both systems rely on road speed input from the ABS control unit. With the ABS out for repair, ECM and TCM are not seeing the speed signal they need to calculate fuel delivery and shifting. Get the ABS back on its feet, then reset all and roadtest.

Hello again.
Thanks to everybody who responded. Had the ABS rebuilt. Cleared the codes before installing. Also flushed the tranny according to Klaus's recommendations and installed a inline filter.
Have driven the car now for about 3 days and (knock on wood) nothing yet...!!!
Thaks again guys,
Rolf

Rolf,
I hope you used ATF Dexron IIE/ III and Mercon for your flush, or a synthetic equivilent such as Mobile1. The newer cars use 3309 atf. I don't want you to always believe every thing I say, but always verify MY answers by looking in the owners manual.

Get the ABS ECU repaired and then clear the codes again and see what comes back. The first 3 monitors that are up on your list are what are called "continuous" monitors and so long as the car starts and runs with no misfires they will come up pretty much instantly everytime you start the car and the others will require a couple of drive cycles to bring up. They are not up currently because you cleared the codes.

Mark

That sure is a boat load of problems!!!
Victor will take good care of your ABS module. Just remember, your speedometer will not work while it is removed, so no passing other cars on the highway :)

The flashing arrow for the tranny is a problem. Your fluid needs to be flushed as soon as possible. You will need about 12 quarts of Mobile 3309 to do the job. It only take 30 minutes, and you won't have to jack the car up.
The tranny also needs the speed sensor to work correctly. That part may need to be replaced, it is under the air cleaner.

The evap system may just be a bad check valve or a light vacuum leak.

Klaus,

Flushed my tranny also a 99 V-70 NA)with Mercon/Dexron about 1 year and 10K ago (Actually the second time I flushed it as the first time was when we got the car at about 50K). Did I make a mistake as I see your reference to the Mobil 3309 ?

I don't recall that the owners manual referred to a synthetic, but then I'm not running out to the garage to take a look at it. Seems to be shifting fine.

Thanks,

Marty

Darn! I screwed up, again. ATF Dexron IIE/ III and Mercon is used in 1999. That just shows to go ya, READ your owner's manual.
Thanks,
Klaus
